I'm giving away the two SixGill baitcaster reels that I bought a couple months ago. Initial post on those is here...http://forum.finsandfur.net/index.php?topic=20690.msg224612.msg#224612
I gave one away on Facebook tonight, and the other one I'll give away here.
They're actually not as bad as I initially made them out to be. Granted my first impression out of the box before I had a chance to use them was unfair. They do work nicely and I caught fish on one of them. I just don't like the way they feel and want something a little more quality.
Speaking of that my new Lews showed up in the mail tonight to add to my Arsenal.
Anywho! If any of you is interested in the SixGill Cyclone baitcaster, reply to this post and on the 15th I will have a drawing for the winner.

Put my name in the hat.
I've been holding back, thinking y'all farther east have more use for this type of reel than I do but I have two very specific kinds of fishing I do where this reel is ideal and way better than the spinning reels I've been using.

Breach of contract! False advertising! :innocentwhistle:
Is it too late to throw my name in the hat?
Send it my way, I will try it out in the salt.

Voice of experience: if a reel does not specifically say that it is for salt water, do not use it in salt water. I had a medium low price range Daiwa spinning reel the right size for steelhead and sockeye salmon, and used it for about three hours in salt water from my kayak one time. It took me an over an hour to drive home so it was likely two hours after fishing that I washed it in fresh water with a garden hose as I do all gear after using in the salt. The next morning when I went to put the dried gear away, the reel made a LOUD grinding noise when I turned the handle and felt rough rather than smooth turning. It still worked but after more washing (too late) and a few uses as a back-up reel I got rid of it. I replaced it with a Cabela's brand Salt Striker made to handle salt water.
Boom!

Congrats to the winner and thanks to Jim for the give away! :highclap:
Jim, Thanks for the donation, but if I might make a suggestion for the future (should there be one) get a container with a larger opening. :innocentwhistle: :innocentwhistle: :innocentwhistle:
River boss is the reel boss!
Dang! Thanks Jim for doing this, let me know what I need to do.

Yah a bigger opening in the container or an air chisel :laf:
Congrats Dan...I just need a mailing address and I'll have this thing on it's way.
I used my bass rod once striper fishing brought it home and threw it in the garage and never even thought to wash it off or anything went to haul it out the next weekend and it looked like somebody poured a cup of battery acid all over it that salt is brutal on the reels.

Started dating a woman a month ago. I belive it is written in the stars that I should be dating her. She lives not 2 mile from a big Bass Pro shop. I am going to go visit in the morning. Might even stop by to see the girlfriend.
Thanks for doing this Jim and congratulations to Dan.

And now you know that Jim doesn't check emails. But now that you have posted here he will tap talk you the reel. :wo:
Well I learned something! I didn't know you can send messages in Tapatalk. But I found it Dan. I've got it all boxed up and ready to go, now I have to try to figure out how to get to the post office during their open hours.
That's usually a pretty big task.
