Lil-man was riding his bike and came in yelling...."GROUNDHOG". Soooo, I loaded up the .17HMR and handed it to him. We walked to our back field and a nice one was out eating. He missed. So back to the house we go. I sit back down at the computer and 20 minutes later I here him running through the house again. I laughed as he yelled again...."GROUNDHOG".
So he walk back again, The pig caught us as we were slipping into position for him to shoot. So we sat down and was petting the neighbors pup talking and watching. Five minutes later the ol big gurl shows her self again. Cam is sitting with the shooting sticks this time and I whisper to him to wait till she gets through the fence into the short grass and to hold behind her shoulder. He missed.
SO I took the gun and sticks and we waited again. 3-4 minutes later a little one comes out of the hole and when it stops crawling I ease the safety off and right as I pull the trigger the neighbors pup comes up in my lap. I hit the pig and it pulled it's self back into the hole. As we were getting ready to stand up I see another one coming out of another hole to the right. So I line up, smack the pup, and it gave that beautiful tail twitch as the lil bullet hit where I was holding that time.
I was surprised that the .17 went all the Way through this pig. It was a small one, but at 120 yards I figured it would have just mushed it's insides real good.

No Bill, I never touched him. ANd today he missed another one. THink he's going to have to shoot his gun on paper to see where he's hitting.
