it took about 2 hours to paint....i was going to do a write up how to on it .....just havent had the time
my goal: do as much as I can, as fast as I can, for as long as I can, and at the end of the day if I'm not satisfied I will be to wore out to care

Here is my Savage 12fv 22-250 that I painted.

It is a stone texture paint from Wal-mart.   I sprayed  it first with gray fusion for plastic, flat black, then the entire stock with the grey texture paint, then flat black over about 95% of it and then shot it with the grey texture with a very light cover from a distance as to let the black still show thru. Then about 4 coats of flat clear over all of it.   Very happy with how it turned out.

Yeah, that'd be cool to try with some other colors too.

I painted the stock and did all of the metal work, including the DuraCoat on my Remington 700 build. I also did my AR.

MI VHNTR,  what paint did you use on the Rem 700?  It looks a lot like my Savage.  You did a very nice job on both of your rifles.

Isn't it a PITA to do the digital camo?

Those look good MI VHNTR.

Is the Rem 700 done in Polane-T ?

Sims it looks like that textured paint job would help you keep ahold of your firearm as well. Is it really as rough is it looks?

that digital works real well as a camo pattern but it gives me a headache to look at it.

I really like the texture.  It makes the stock plastic feel more "solid".  On that note I have a hard time leaving things alone.  Decided to change the paint again since I added a choate cheek piece to the stock and decided it just had to be painted to match, so I repainted the entire stock.   Here are a few pictures for ya.

Thanks for the kind words.

I painted the High Tech Specialties stock with automotive primer, followed by Rustoleum Textured paint and then a matte clear. The DuraCoat is Vltor Black.

I used stencils for the digital camo. It is time consuming because of the different stencils and colors, but it's really not that hard to do. I bought the stencils from here.
