Pack of Coyotes Attacks Colorado Woman, Dog.

Like other predators, whose numbers continue to climb throughout the United States, coyotes are getting more and more brazen. Most recently, a 51-year-old Denver woman was attacked by a pack of three coyotes Saturday night as she walked her dog.

The woman told wildlife officials she was walking her 75-pound Labrador retriever when the three predators surrounded them. Two of the coyotes began to attack the dog and when the woman intervened, one of them bit and scratched the woman.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released, while her dog was taken to a veterinary hospital. There is no word on the dog's condition.

State police contacted wildlife authorities following the evening attack, who then searched for the rampaging predators. However, they were not found.

A Colorado Department of Wildlife release notes that when coyotes lose their natural fear of humans, they can become aggressive toward people. This attack is a key example.
