Image isn't that clear as I had to crop it, but this guy was cruising through he back yesterday morning looking for a few mice.
Nice looking red, though.

FinsnFur

REAL nice looking Red... for sure. Especially with that frosty backdrop.

Hawks Feather

Your season closed or is that part of your breeding stock?

Jerry

HuntnCarve

Looks like he's glancing at your chickens? :innocentwhistle:  He sure is a pretty one I have to say.  That photo would look nice on a call.

Hawk, I was in a tree stand 2 months back on Dave's property during deer season.  I saw five different red fox come by the stand within a 10 minute span!  So breeding stock does not seem to be an issue down his way. :laf:

I've only seen one red. Wish I had the pic with him going after some cheese which would prove he's from WI

Jerry, our season isn't closed yet.  I believe it goes to mid feb, so it's getting close.  Looked out back this a.m. and I believe it was the same fox, only limping pretty bad off one of its front legs.  If I see him again, and he's limping the same, he'll be in for a little bit of trouble  :eyebrow:
Dave, you are right on with where he's looking - you know the property all too well.  Fortunately nothing has been bothering the chickens.

HaMeR

Those sure are purdy critters. Prime looking coat. Too bad about the injury.

Dave

Here are a few more that I took this morning.  This guy is usually out along my driveway every morning grabbing a few mice to make it through the day.

He runs around A LOT with his tail up.  Funny and annoying at the same time.

Ok, well not ALL the time

This is a house that's in front of mine that's been for sale for awhile (more like abandoned as no one has been living there for almost a year).  It's 10 acres, and the lawn hadn't been cut all last year, so it's a mouse factory.  And he's the caretaker.

"Gotcha!"

Great photos, I never have a camera when I see something like this.

I didn't have one either, Chris, but I drove back to the house, grabbed it, drove back past him and turned around so he would be on the drivers side.  He sort of watched me the whole time, but really never lost focus on his mousing.  They're so used to cars around here it doesn't phase them at all.

nailbender

Those are some great pics! I love watching them pound mice.

FinsnFur

That is so cool.  :highclap:
In the eyes of the antis were nothing but heartless redneck killing machines though. Were not suppose to be awwed over this stuff. :nono: But ya know what? I love it. I wish I coulda been there to watch this little display.

Thanks a ton for sharing that Dave
