Yep HaMeR it is.  The particular fellow I called an adze was talking of making a bowl and putting it up for auction to help pay for the new chat room.  Interesting enough he was the only one to come forth with an item for that purpose.  I suppose that should get him called a few names too, eh.  But then maybe he was doing it for the "atta boy".
I say what I think not think what I say.

Anything is possible here Barry. You know that.  :laf:  Besides Jim won't take the $$ anyhow. This isn't predator masters where the almighty dollar rules the day contrary to some beliefs. Not sure why anybody needs to do any name calling but if it fits their agenda then so be it. Not pointing any fingers at you. I don't think you do it out of spite.

I had the opportunity to use an adze once. That thing will work you bad til you get used to it.  :whew:  After that it's a joy to see those chips fly out of the log the way they do.   The Indians used to hollow canoes out with fire til they got ahold of steel to make their adze from. Then they would charcoal & scrape the bottoms to smooth them out. It's a neat process & they could build a fleet of canoes rather quickly using that method.

I've owned a few adzes over the years.  They work well but I have not the trees to really test them.  There were bowl adzes as well and that was where the adze calling started from last night.
I got a notion that if we offer to help Jim pay for the use of chat out of the goodness of our hearts that he'll relent[albeit maybe with a sore arm] and allow us to help.  I for one like to help pay for anything I use[I've noticed that guys who go camping/hunting and don't pull their freight often get left off the truck the next time around] and told Jim I would be willing to help out as well.
Chat has been wonderful to me as I've made many friends and got more useful information there than I've gleaned from some other forums on the net.  Personal attacks have no place in chat as well as people coming in incognito trying to stir the pot.  I suppose I can honestly say that I use it more than most, it can be both entertaining and enlightening if given a chance.  Tik will attest to the fact that sometimes the conversation has more twists than a 1/4 mile long coil spring but if you pay attention it actually makes sense .

AND...  you actually suggested the very act your praising him for. :doh2:

We were at an old historical Indian campground & they had Native Americans there demonstrating the adze. The smaller bowl adze's were used by the Women & Children as per their accounts. It was neat,, & painful  :whew: ,, to watch those young men work the bowl adze with the log between their knees swinging back at themselves. Other than at the Historical Village I've never seen an adze anywhere else except in a museum.

You ever notice that one or a hundred makes absolutely no difference around here. :noway:

Does it matter if a person see's a great idea and runs for a touchdown with it.  I find praise gathers more friends than ridicule

You commented that your particular fellow was THE ONLY one to come forth.
I'm saying how could anyone else be expected to come forth when no one was there.

Thats kind of like running a poll and then closing it after the first person votes and praising him for voting. wth? LMAO! :loco:

What do I got to change.  I was chatting with a couple guys this morning and couldn't copy from the page or paste in the box :pout:.  That audio thingy threw me off the whole computer again too :doh2:.
I say what I think not think what I say.

FinsnFur

I dont know what you have to change since I dont know what your doing. I'll go out on a limb and guess your right and left clicking. Which only works 100% of the time on local applications.

What are Local Applications?
Local Applications are programs that you open, run, use, or edit that are installed on your computer and that you do NOT access the web to use them. ie; Paint Shop, Word, Notepad, Excell, etc.

The chat script is accessed via the web, and while "That doooooooooooooo suck big time"...it's really the only possible method. Not ridiculing...just some friend gathering praise really. :alscalls:

Why dont you just use Hotkeys to do your cut and paste stuff?

If the shoe fits......

I had a BLAST!!!!!

I guess it all depends on how an average person would look at it.  Since it wasn't made by what I think of as an average person or at least one who I have any respect for, I guess I should just forget it and the person that posted it.  Yea, that will be a BLAST!!!!    Bye  :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :highclap: :highclap: :highclap:
