CCP, Talk more about the whisper. Is it quiet when Sub. Accuracy,,,,,,ETC   Im intrested. I was going to get the viper rechambered in a 243wssm but I am intrested in the whisper.

I can tell you a little about the Whisper. I have one on a Remington 700 with a 22" 1-8 twist barrel, its threaded for the suppressor I also have. I like the fact I can shoot a 220 grain modified round nose bullet at sub sonic speeds and with the suppressor it is almost silent.  The trajectory with the heavy bullets is somewhat like a slingshot, you damn near can't hit anything with it with out a range finder and a cheat sheet. But, it is a fun gun to shoot at the range. It is at its best with 110 grain bullets. Need some load data?

Hey Dan, what distance are you talking about when you mentioned the rangefinder?  Also when you mention this are you talking about loading it subsonic?

Steve if you are in flat country you may opt for the 243wssm, but if you shoot 0-200yds the whisper is a great round. i shoot the 110g bullets for coyotes but may change back to the 130g pistol bullets. The 220g bullets are fun at subsonic on bowling pins out to 100yds. It does drop like a slingshot but after awhile you can adjust pretty well out to 100yds.

The whisper is not a bang flop round with any bullet combo, it is a consistent killer have never lost anything yet. It is good for those shots we get here in the thick, the fast shots at odd angles. The whisper will drive thru any coyote without blowing it up also no recoil so follow up shots are easy.
You can see your shots as they hit weather at the range or in the field. I believe it to be a perfect match for the AR in the woods.

I had my chamber and dies cut with the same reamer it is very tight and have to turn all my necks to chamber correctly. If anything you need to know let me know If i don't have the answer can find someone that does.

Here's some numbers for you to look at. I use a modified 220 grain Hornady round nose bullet at 1000 FPS.
The ballistic coefficient is about .300.

25 yards the bullet hits 2.3 inches high
50   "-------------------------3.9   "      "
75  "--------------------------3.2   "       "
100 "-------------------------0.0   sighted in for 100.
125  "-----------------------5.6   "    low
150  "----------------------13.6  "     "
175  "--------------------- 24.3  "     "
200  "---------------------37.6   "     "

Maybe Rich can post the #s for his 110g and 130g loads to see how bad they drop from 25-200 yards

I couldn't imagine trying to shoot heavy bullets at 200yds out of the whisper. Shooting them at 100yds is fun for sure.

It shows my 110g vmax at my loading in the hornady fifth edition vol 2 book as

Muzzle................-1.5

50.....................0.2

100...................0.0

200...................-6.3

I use a 150 yd zero I can hold dead center coyote anywhere from 25 to 200 and still easily kill my target. That is not a theory or a ballistic chart it is what we do.
