Chris,

Fort Dix is located slightly North of dead center in the state of New Jersey.  Looks like you guys will be about an hour away in any direction, of the worst effected areas.  All the way up the coast into New York was hit pretty bad.  You will not have to travel too far from there to find work.  Was over in NJ yesterday to take my son back to Rutgers.  He still does not have power at his house across from campus.  People are lined up for gasoline over there.  They now have it "odds/evens" based off your license plate for gas rationing over there. :rolleye:  Stay safe, be careful, and holler if you need anything.

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Fort Dix I think is about 45 min to an hour from here.  I don't know much about the area, though.  Keep us posted on what's going on.  HuntnCarve may be in the area tomorrow night, so if things aren't too hectic give me a call.

Just got to our camping area a little chilly, but we'll manage...find out tomorrow whats going on, cant wait. We got about forty gallons of saw gas and cant wait to fire up them saws. Talk to you guys later.

Not an animal Jim , we work for the Federal Government tax dollars pay our wages. I see a lot of wasteful spending, and when I say anything about it I'm told to chill out "you are getting paid". I believe if you have a job you do it, they are holding us because of weather that is expected tomorrow. I guess I am a little on the eager side, not the crew boss on this assignment just a sawyer, and that stihl 460 needs to roar.

Well I got to run 4 tanks through the saw today. We fell trees that were on the obstacle course at fort Dix and buck them up into firewood size pieces,  :yoyo: dont get to fall many hardwoods out west. It was a good day.

Well its snowing pretty good here, didn't work today. We are in tent city off of the base. The tents that they gave us are sweet, heated, bunk beds, lockers and wood floors. Maybe when the storm passes we can get back to work.

Damn! Sounds nice.  Maybe I'll come stay there for a few days!
What do you typically do on a day off?

nor-cal yote

Usually we work 14days straight then head home, and not get a day off until we get home, but with FEMA running the show theres no telling, if we get some time off I'll be sure to give ya a call.

Been cutting a ton of trees, worked on a naval base that loads the ships with ammo and food, opening all the train tracks today good times. Love these hardwoods, got into a jackpot of blow down today probably six trees all twisted together. Had to pick the right tree to release the bind, kind of a big puzzel.

Worked on the naval base again today, maybe one more shift. We were told two weeks worth of work guess they don't deliver know how we like to work. Had dinner at Harpon Willies tonight, if any of you guys are ever in the area I suggest. Great food and service. Knocked twenty percent of the bill and gave us a free bottle of vodka.
