Official FnF Bow Hunt Contest Thread.

I quit doing archery deer with long and recurve bows when compounds became the rage decades ago. Just as well, ain't no stinking whitetails in CA, NV, UT, N AZ, W CO, etc, so this contest excludes members from those areas anyway.

There isnt anything anywhere that says anything about limited to Whitetail, in the contest Ladobe. This contest is open to all bow kills.

Just yanking your chain Jimbo since you did post specifics for whitetails and none of the other deer species. LOL

Don't hunt/shoot anything anymore, so would not be a contestant anyway.

Sorry - gave or threw away all the archery gear years ago.

However, if you run a contest for taking crickets, roaches, brown recluse, black widows or scorpions with the fastest fly swatter in the west, or hooch, let me know. Only things I kill now days, and I kill a lot of them daily (especially the hooch).

Our best guess and that's all it is (a guess) was 250 live weight.

It's getting down to the wire and we only have four contestents so far.

Let's try upping the anti a bit, thanks to two call makers here that I feel forever in debt to now

My knees buckled when I got the mail yesterday and seen these additional prizes for our Bow Contest.

Shouldn't be too hard to figure out who DONATED a couple of these for our contest. Unbelievable work here.

HuntnCarve (Dave Paul) and bnccont (Bill Grove) both had a hand in those. I am still literally in aw over it all.
I told Dave that I never even fathomed the idea of me ever getting this close to his work. Always considered him untouchable, or way above.
To say it's an honor to receive these as donations for the contest is a gross understatement, seriously.

Kinda like I felt when Bill handed me one of his grunters in the parking lot and said 'it's yours' or when this showed up with the howler I got from dave a ways back.

We got some awesome folks here and they are a very talented bunch

). You know Jim, you could take your pocket knife and make the 7 an 8 and have a REALLY nice call for the year.

Well fellas I have to say Bill did all the work. They are some really nice calls, and will make someone a sweet prize.
I'm just glad I didn't botch them up! Thanks for the kind words! Now that my head is so swollen I won't be able to fit through the shop door. I hope to be doing alittle more for the site in future. So until then... Thank you Bill, and the rest of the gang for the opportunity to give alittle back.

When Jim and I talked about these calls I was really scared about making them I just knew I was gonna botch em up somehow

I had no idea what I was gonna do to make them special.I hadn't turned any kingwood so when I found this blank and was big enough to make both calls I knew this was it. Then Jim asked if I could get them engraved with that logo.I was gonna attempt it but knew then that was where the botching was gonna happen :roflmao: I make a few phone calls to some local engravers with no response. When it hit me we have an engraver on this site.I contacted David Paul [HuntnCarve ] and he said he would love to do it I felt alot more at ease knowing they would be done by a true artist.When I got them back from Dave I was like a kid at Christmas carefully tore open the box and my jaw dropped open.Thanks Dave you put the icing on the cake!!!
