Title: LBL hunt 2015
Post by: KySongDog on October 13, 2014, 09:18:32 PM
It looks like the LBL hunt for 2015 will be on February 6, 7, and 8.  That's the first full weekend in February and traditionally our hunt date.

So who else is going?  Have you made your cabin reservations yet?

Let's start a roster of those going, might go or most likely not going

I'll update this post as folks decide and post their status in this thread.

Semp
riverboss
frogman
Weedwalker
Slagmaker
msmith
linemansteve
coyote101 +4 more
Biscuit
Ol' Joe

What are the dates? With a date, and if someone has an empty space in a cabin, I can submit my vacation request and upgrade my "might go"

I don't think so. I have two brothers-in-law and two nephews coming, and have reserved my old cabin.

I'll be somewhere between red and blue looks like. Just found out Wednesday I'll be changing jobs Jan 31st. Don't know if I'll be able to get off my 1st week on the job. It's actually the same job, just a new company coming in to take over. We'll see what happens.

Ive been threw a couple new owner changes. I think it will workout for your vac most didnt want to cause any bad blood with the employs and bent over backwards to be very accomidating. It usually takes about 6 months before they start making changes they like to see who is going to stay and who needs to go.

Well gang sorry it has been so long since I posted here on the FNF forum. Been real busy at work and raising young ones. Sorry for the name change as well. Couldn't remember my dang password for my other account for the last year.
So when all else failed I just went ahead and started a new account. Missed shooting the bull with you guys even though I have been stalking from a distance and trying to keep up with what's been going on.

I will be at the LBL hunt this year with Ol' Joe in tow  looking forward to catching up since the ice storm put a damper on last years hunt.

Hey I am getting in this a little late, been busy and not enough time off to go to all events I would like to attend.  I see that the numbers are down this year but thought I would see if there is interest in an LBL 2015 Call.  Sample pic below and could make more and try to get in the mail to someone who will be attending to deliver to the others.  I also have a few of the LBL 2014 calls from last year for sale and will donate a few laminate calls for the prize table.  The LBL calls would be $20 each at the event or $23 if shipped to an address.

Thanks - Doug

Unfortunately I wont be able to make it. Extremely hard decision as I have never missed one in 14 years. Working farther away from home and LBL right now.

I only have air card access to the internet at times (spotty) and my phone. I promise I have not forgotten you guys and when things get un-crazy I will be back in force.

Looking forward to pictures and updates. unless I be dead I wont miss another.

God Bless and have a blessed time.

Hey guys, I plan on being there this season and bringing a couple others with me. I'm certain most of you will not remember me. I've been on this hunt numerous times since it began and I know I will remember some of you once I see you again and vise versa!

I wish Richard was going to make it this year, he always breaths life into the entire hunt and I always listen to his stories and advice; hopefully next year! I sure hope those Ol' Song Dogs will respond this year, as most of you said and I agree last year was about as slow as I've seen it. It seems those dogs start smelling that Chili, Jambalaya and other great dishes smelling up the camp they know we will want them lying around the camp joining us for discussion on how they ended up there.

See you all soon and if you would riverboss put us down for three of those calls; thanks!

Looks like there are 7 of the 10 2015 calls spoken for that I will have ready.  Is there any one that is going that would like to take the calls to the hunt and collect the $$.  You can prepay with paypal using dgggmy@aol.com.  I can mail the calls On Wed this week to make sure there is plenty of time to get there.  KyFuzzyface has done the call delivery at the past hunts and appreciated the help from him.  Sorry to hear he can not make it this year.

Thanks -

Riverboss - OK I missed the three for Alpha1.  I saw your comment to him but did not see that he asked for 3 in his original post.  The preferred method to get the calls to the hunt is to mail them USPS to someone who is going or I call mail them to each person separately and add the cost for shipping.  You guys let me know.  OBTW I can make some more if needed but  they would be delivered after the hunt.

Thanks - Doug

I am new to the area here and heard about this hunting event for someone else, my sons and I would like to come most likely both Friday and Saturday, is there anything we need to do, a certain spot to go, or just go out and hunt on our own for some yotes out there, and are electronic calls ok.

Thanks

There is no one spot to hunt. The entire LBL  area is open as long as you pay your usage fee and have license for the state your hunting. "The LBL is both TN and KY." There is no headquarters per say bUT the first cabins you come to at wranglers is an informal gathering/bragging area.
remember to take and post lots of pics as Jim likes to look at the pics of what he is missing

Hey guys.  I just joined the site a couple of months ago when I was researching coyote hunting in LBL and this popped up.  Me and 4 other guys will be arriving tomorrow to hunt, and hope to get to meet a few of you.  I'll be in a white Tundra.
Has anyone had any luck yet this week?  I live here in KY, and went this past weekend here at home, and didn't have any luck.

I am new to the area here and heard about this hunting event for someone else, my sons and I would like to come most likely both Friday and Saturday, is there anything we need to do, a certain spot to go, or just go out and hunt on our own for some yotes out there, and are electronic calls ok.

Thanks
First of all make sure you know LBL laws, they aren't the same as Ky fish and wildlife. Several meet up @ Wranglers Campground and hang out. You can hunt anywhere you want as long as you have Ky and Tenn license and a LBL permit, A few areas may be off limit but will be posted. (most of the time)
Good luck.

Oh don't forget a door prize or two for the gathering Saturday night. It's the highlight of the event!

Thanks guys. I'm pretty familiar wth the laws. I've hunted there before but never for coyotes. I've been doing a lot of research and that's how I ended up finding this site.
Hope we all kill a few!

Wranglers.... it is the horse campground. Easy to find if your comming off the highway onto the trace going south. Just follow the signs

They don't always howl back so don't give up on the howls, especially during breeding season. I find they come in on the sneak most of the time.

The hunts in the books in a few hours. What a great trip even with the lack of members not being able to make it.
Sure hope those who couldnt make it all know they were missed!
We had nice weather and meet several new friends[emoji106]  im sure we will meet again, Pat did a great job as usual and i personaly would like to thank those who donated door prizes[emoji122]  they were top notch!
Hunting was hard! I can't wait till everyone makes it home to see what the total number was as some were going out this morn. Lineman Steve and i left last night and are home already![emoji42]
So far i had killed 2 femals Pat had missed 1 a new guy had lost one sorry i cant remember his name!
Steve and i had seen 11 and Steve passed on 4 marginal shots[emoji106]
I ran over a bobcat last night on the trace comeing home and couldnt find it. Jim took plenty of pics and should have a great write up to come.
Heres a pic of my last coyote they must of been starving because the would run over a decoy and veryl ittle scat had hair in it just  persimon seeds.

Pic of the new upgrades to the cabins! Heat and air that cant be takin by horse riders. Most cabins were done with heat but some air needed done, the large cabins had 2 heaters and they did a great job keeping them warm.

Its nice but the price is going up some and it take some space in the small cabins. I hope they dont get broke and not fixed those horse people are rough on stuff.

Nice to see that everyone made it home OK.  Also enjoyed seeing all the pics from the hunt.

Last call for 2015 LBL calls - after it was all over I still have two of the 2015 calls for sale.  $22 delivered TYD.

Thanks - Doug
