hey everybody. I'm just about to finish my senior year of high school  and i'm really thinking of going to college for criminal justice. but i also really like the idea of becoming involved in fish in game. Does anyone know what kinda of education you have to have in order to become fish and game? Or is their anyone here that is involved in fish and game and could tell me what it's like?  :wo:

Go to your State's DNR website. I know Ohio has a "Career" tab on theirs. HTH

that is a fine profession to get into I would say go here http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Inside_FandG/contact_a_co.htm and pick out your district and contact your district Office talk with one or better yet several Officers ask what courses you should consider for that job field good luck
there's something you better understand about me, 'cause it's important and one day your life may depend on it. I am definitely a madman with a box!

Even if NH doesn't require a college degree in criminal justice for a job as a CO, I would highly recommend that you get the 4 year college degree anyway.  It will help you years down the road when, or if,  you decide to move in to upper management.   My $.02 worth.

Good luck Mandi.

NH has game wardens?.............all great advice given in this thread...just like in policing  dont think there is any specific degree...but a CJ degree helps...or some type of environmental....I always thought being a wild life biologist would be awesome too...the advice for getting the degree is dead on...some places require a minumum of a bachelors to even apply...and I even know a women warden working already!...and feel free to pick on FnF, Mr. Champion loves when we NH folks do that  :yoyo:

Make sure your in good shape also ive seen tons of people well qualified for policing and the job who aced everything and flunked the pt test!....and its Pass or Fail, no in between... :yoyo:
