I went turkey hunting this AM and the birds just werent comming down after all the rain in the last couple of days so I went to my Old Grave Yard to see whats going on........

I was ashamed at the damage the ATV's are doing to the place so I avoided the pics of me putting the cable back up in 3 places and fixing where they cut the fence........ :argh:

The roads and the grave yard are getting real tore up by those SOB's.......... :argh: :argh:

But I can show ya a few of the old head stones.........

Then when I got home I found that my wife had bought one of these for $1 .........

Seems I was not alone in thinking of times gone by.........................

Got a sure cure for those atv riders if you have a honey locust handy.

Pull or cut several dozen thorns from the tree. Place in baking pan in the oven on real low heat for a few hours. We want them dried hard not burned. Scatter these in areas where they are definately not welcome , all along the trails.. Nothing illegal about it and danged if they can prove you sabotaged a thing.  You want the ones with plenty of spikes from the one stem like a caltrop.. That way any way they roll or get pushed around something is going to get a tire.

Now if they are walking in , temporary electric fencing placed just about four inches below the waist  Jimmie

I have to agree with Jimmie on the Honey locust. They are the best thing to deter 4 wheelers. Slime wont plug the hole them things can leave. You can throw them out without the oven treatment but you will get better results after hardneing.

If you could figure out a trigger mechanism to throw them thorns at the riders then you will never have a problem again for at least 3 months .  Thats how long the damb thing reminded me to not just touch anything in your neck of the woods. :doh2:
I say what I think not think what I say.

3 months..  :wo:  Yeah thats about right for a locust thorn :madd:.

Hey...that's one heck of a trail cam ya got there Al. That is a pretty neat camera, is there any chance of getting film for it still? I would imagine it would cost an arm and a leg if you can. Still a neat camera though. And for a buck...that's a steal!

I'm not gonna touch the ATV situation...I can't stand those stinking things. I know they are a very useful tool for some, but there are way too many idiots that like to abuse the privilege around here :argh:

GReat idea with the locust branch!  What a useful and informative site this FNF is    :congrats:
Can you make out dates on the headstones?

alscalls

The dates are mostly early 1800's......
I dont know about the film...... I was wondering the same thing as I bet it would take a neat pic...... :eyebrownod:

Here is part of the road on my farm...... keep in mind this is off the public road......this is where they ride through me.... :argh:

This is in part of the graveyard itself..... :argh:

That road[as you call it] is on your property?  I know up here where I'm at there is an old law on the books about existing trails but I'd have to know where this road goes to make a case for it even here .  I can certainly understand why you are cranky about it from the pictures at any rate.

He might have problems if hte cemetary was still being used or there were relatives still living. He wouild have to allow access then becuase the road would be a part of the deed of hte cemetary. And it would be the responsibility of the family that owned the cemetary to keep the road up.

Otherwise , if these yocals are using the road to tresspass then he can do pretty well what he chooses. If local law won't or can't handle it then he is on his own to deal with it.

B sure you take those clusters of thorns from the trunk and not from the limbs

I use and need an atv around here. It is one of ht ehndier things to have in my book. Although once upon a time you couldn't have given me one.  Butr it makes it easier to cut firewood anywhere I wish and run fences with a small load of tools aboard for repairs and chainsaws.  They have their place, just not vandalizing property. Jimmie

Dave

Early 1800's.  I think I remember you posting before about revolutionary gravesites on your property.  Hopefully they don't get vandalized or disturbed.  It's gotta be frustrating to have that going on on your place.  Good luck dealing with them.

Though I would grant access to an honest person..........
In this state it is mine and I can do as I please............

Just remember it is illegal to set a trap for someone. If they get hurt, they will sue you.  Or you may get a criminal charge.  Don't ask me how I know this.   :nono:

alscalls

I could put up another fence and a BIG sign saying ...... If you cross here you will damage yore ATV and possibly get hurt........
:laf: :laf: :laf:  They still would...... :laf: :laf: :laf:  Idiots......
