Got the crow sled out!!

I haven't been after the crows lately. It seems every time I go scout for them they are scattered real bad. But yesterday,, YESTERDAY!! Oh my was I grinnin. There was 25-30 crows in a small field & another 100+ right up the road. I'm gonna go to the small field in the AM & see what I can do. Then I'll keep an eye out for the big flock up the road. If they are still there I will get my Brother & we'll give em hell on their ground.   With the weather moderating here they should stick around for a couple days.

He can't shoot groundhogs no more....Diane took that away from him.
So were probably gonna get some sled riding pics

  No sled riding pics man. The only reason to go back up the hill after the ride would be to get the truck & go home.

I've eaten my share of crow on occasion Barry. 


I pick the dead crows up,, which didn't take long today  ,, & throw them along the field edge in the weeds. I've also used them for attic insulation in groundhogs holes during the winter. No matter what you do with them it doesn't take long for one of Mother Nature's hungry children to clean em up.

Lol, Thats what I like HaMeR, keep'n it real and simple.  Any other sight and that would be a pic of a $10,000 four wheeler with all the latest greatest Cabelas, and other comp. gear and this post would have been an infomercial, but its not......................its next door real. 

So ya know I wasted a few crows in my day but never hunted them like intended. So why do we hunt them again, (We don't have them in my part of Alaska) are they a nuisance?

I've seen what those damn things eat along the road!! 

Crows,, after cats,, are the biggest predators of song birds. They work in pairs & raid every nest they can find to raise their own young so they can join the murder to wreak havoc on farmers crops. They decimate geese nesting areas too. Crows & geese will both pull a corn shoot out of the ground for the seed. They dive bomb into ready to harvest soy beans for the grass hoppers & bugs knocking beans on the ground. Then they eat them. They will peck holes in fruits & vegetables for a meal. Nut farmers down south have a real problem with them eating their pecans. And add that to the fact they are probably the most aerobatic birds on the planet & you have a helluva good time!!
