Lance Brown here from Southern Illinois. I'll definitely be at LBL this year. Went the last two years with ilcoyote and Stan the Man. I'm sure they'll be coming too. I'll be bringing another hunting partner as well. Looking forward to it. It's my grownups Christmas if ya know what I mean! :yoyo:

Hi all. I am a noobie who lives about 2 hours from LBL in KY. I'm just now getting in to predator hunting after having chased deer and turkeys for the last 30 years. So....I profess to know NOTHING about predator hunting. I've smoked a few coyotes over the years but mostly by accident. I didn't call them.
My question is the LBL hunt planned for experienced hunters only or can a noobie join in the fun? Does everyone hunt with a partner or do you go it alone? Thought maybe this might be a good opportunity to learn a thing or two.

Welcome to the sight Semp.
The LBL is for all to enjoy. There will be noobies and novices both there, and a little of everything in between.
There will be some hooking up with others and a few that demand to be left alone. So, If you want someone to hunt with, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

I live in West KY pretty close to Evansville, IN. I'll make a trip or two down to LBL and do some scouting. I've turkey hunted there before and know some of the area already. I know some are staying at Wranglers camp. There are motels in Aurora KY which is within a few miles of Wranglers camp also.

What side of the lbl are you guys going to hunt? I will be on the Tenn side again. I am going to try to come down Thur. night and hunt all weekend. I don't know if I want to stay at the cabins or at the hotel on the Tennessee side. I would be glad to hunt with any of you guys.

I'm new to this forum, I just made my first post a little bit ago. I just shot my first coyote out of LBL on 12-9-06, and now I've got the bug!! I go to school down at Murray State, so I'm not but about 30 minutes from Wranglers Camp in LBL.

for the last few years i have cooked chili and had coyotes come to the grease. this year i am going to do my sets with a single burner camp stove. cook some bacon and let those damn swriling winds carry that smell to the dogs. they have been raiding camp sites all summer and just might come to my sets because they anticipate a free meal. what do yall think? last year i had two dogs come within 100 yards of where i was cooking.

Im from the central part of Ky. About 4 and a half hours away from LBL have deer hunted the area some in the past its been 2 or 3 years sence i have been down there. There were plenty coyotes there then and sounds like they are still going strong.

The only thing that might keep me away is my partner is a diabetic and is having foot trouble.He cant walk a lot so if we get to come set ups will be few and close to the truck. I would hate coming with out him. He is an grade school teacher of mine and we have shared many of hunts together even at LBL.

Tell your hunting buddy he does not have walk miles to hunt LBL. It's all good hunting... One place is about as good as another.
A copule of years ago, one of the biggest male coyotes I've seen at LBL was called in within 200 yards of a gravel road. These two guys parked their truck on the road, walked into the woods line at the back of a field close by, set up and within 10 minutes had one down.

And I have a few places in mind for those that can't get around all that well for whatever reason. Several are on reasonably level aproaches.
Last time I huntesd in there , our first setup was within sight of the vehicles if you were looking for them. I could see the shine from the chrome on both trucks.
Just have to watch the winds a bit and have fun. Jimmie
