I'm not nearly as good as this kid, not even close, but while growing up on a farm with turkeys I learned much of the same stuff. The body language works with turkeys, and sometimes I drop my hands down to scrape my finger tips along the ground while doing the crouched strut. There is one other major sound I use that he didn't in this video (but I'm sure this kids knows it) that just sets off tom turkeys. He may have made the sound but the video didn't catch it.
My wife thought it was hilarious when I talked with wild turkeys while we were in Wyoming a couple of years ago. Driving around my friend's large ranch to see game, we would come across a lone tom or a group. They would go nuts and come in to challenge me. I have never hunted turkeys.
