well to me its not allllllllllllll about big fish FnF ....i have some of my best fishing times mid summer, hot days, little time after work, hittin a pond with some small flies and bugs, and popping bluegills, sunfish, etc. I love my camera, my first digital camera, going out photo hunting is just about as much fun as fishing and hunting...ALMOST!

Coulter, I live right beside an awesome lake, last week a bunch of guys go up there every night almost and sit there n BS about every subject under the sun, well we were all out on the ice, sititng in the trucks, we drilled a hole under the truck windows, in the ice, and were sititng in the rigs jigging out the window and slamming these nice big yellow perch. we were hammering for about an hour before dusk. they are some mighty good eating, we dust em in salt, pepper, flour n throw em in a hot cast iron skillet, delicious!

I'll agree, just being out there, even if nothings biting is much better then a day at work, or stuck in the house. I live for the big bass spawn each spring.

FnF, i have a brother and sister who live in a private community in northern NH with 2 man made lakes, no motorboats allowed, very light fishing pressure. i fish it all year,no icefishing allowed but but the spring smallmouth spawn is something else. Beautiful big thick fish, very aggressive and almost everybody practices catch and release. Also has some HUGE yellow perch in the lakes. i usually get both species on the flyrod with a brown wooly bugger which looks almost exactly like a baby crayfish, and when you hand strip it in with the flyrod it mimics the way a crayfish swims backwards, deadly!

HEYYYY!!......in NH/VT there is awesome smallmouth fishing everywhere......i really get after em with the flyrod and bass rod. they are sort of like trout, like clear rocky colder water, man O man when you hook one they are torpedos. Most of the rivers around her and lakes are loaded with smalmouth which seem to be streaking in popularity over the largemouth. we calls em green trout haha...do they have bass in wisconsin?...... :eyebrow:
