I dont need no 6.50000 or fancy blackout calibers, this works just fine:

Them were/are a good calibre but I never used them much as I was always partial to my 243. Lever guns lost their appeal the same day I lost my trigger finger. :doh2:
There's quite a few people here that still hunt with the 30-30. All it does is work.
My other old school shooter that I use on the 5% of New Hampshire and Vermont that is not forest is a classic .270 !
The trigger finger story sounds interesting if you care to share? 🕵

Let's hear the trigger finger story! My long time hunting partner lost his trigger finer in a farm accident when he was a teen,
Re the 30-30, I shot my first half dozen deer and first elk with a 30-30, most of those with 150 grain Remington Cor-Lokts.

Let's hear the trigger finger story!
Which one would ya like to hear. :laught17:
All!
Here in New Hampshire it is pronounced Thutty-Thutty
If you grew up in the NE during the 40's & 50's that is the caliber you probably used.
And an Ithaca pump 12 gauge!
Mine was a Win 12, 16ga full choke, no rib.
The Winchester model 12 was the go to here. And I got the model 37 Ithica too.
