Pretty country. I was told once that the reaason people climb to the top of mountains was so they could stand there and listen to the wind going through the hole in their heads. Now, climbing over a mountain to get to a good fishing or hunting spot, sounds like an idea I could get behind.

US Forest Service signs on hiking trails at tree line state that the mountain summit areas have "the worst weather in America".The claim is also used by the observatory near the summit of Mount Washington which once recorded a surface wind speed of 231 miles per hour. Since 1849 at least 169 people have died on Mount Washington and the Presidential Range.
