Will be leaving in the morning for eight days of whitetail hunting in New York. Won't have a computer with me. Will start Today in history when I return. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Ever notice how thing don't go as planned? Well this trip was one of those times. Weather was warmer than normal, fair amount of rain that raised the creek 18 inches, and almost a total lack of deer. Never saw a buck and only about ten does and fawns. Makes me wonder if the population has crashed. My buddy took a spike the day before I got there and the processor said he wasn't getting near the numbers in previous years. Did have 19 bearded tom turkeys wander by at 35 yards, but the season had ended three days earlier. Well, hopefully there is next year.

On top of this, his MIL is in the hospital and probably won't be going home anytime soon, if ever. His wife is turning herself into a basket case with worrying.
