Title: Brass Trumbler
Post by: Carolina Coyote on March 24, 2013, 02:12:57 PM
Recently My Tumbler bit the dust and shopping for a new one I ran across this one made by Smart Reloader ( Made in China) Its a lot smaller than your normal Tumbler but I don't do mass reloading so I thought I would try this one as it was cost effective and very quite according to the advertisement, First run of Brass and I did not have the lid aligned correctly and the vibration pushed a lot of the media out of the Bowl and made a mess but it was not the fault of the Tumbler, since then I have learned how to aligned the Bowl and tighted it down correctly. No more messes!! I now really like this little Tumbles as it cleans the Brass just as good as the larger one I had before and much much quieter and will hold as much Brass as I need to run at any one time. The Brass in the pictures were run through the Sonic cleaner prior to Tumbling to clean the Id's and cleans the OD but does not leave a polished surface so I like to run them through the Thumbler to get the appearence I like.
Attached is some pictures of the last Brass that I cleaned (63 pieces of 270)

I'm not selling these things but just reporting what my experience has been with this product, , but if you are looking to save a little money I don't think you will be disapponited in this little Thrumbler. Prices on the net ranged from $21.99 to $45.00 plus shipping. I bought mine For $27.00 with free shipping for orders $40.00 dollars and over plus they threw in a heavy duty Ammo box that normall sells for around $20.00, I als bought several of the smaller Ammo boxe that holds 50 rounds and really like the way they are constructed with a hinged lid. Jim, That is a media separator and it did not come with the Tumbler but Smart Reloader makes them also. They have packages with Tumbler,Media Separator, and Media, just have to shop around for best price.
Pat, I use a mix  of Half Corn cob and  Crust Walnut Shells and use a little of Flitz metal polish, I take a little bit of the media out and mix the polish in with it so it will not clump up, My nephew uses a Green Corn Cob mix and gets good results with it.CC
