I have some 300 Ultra Mag brass that I am no longer in need of. So I decided to try something a little different? I used the base of the brass to form the head of a couple fishing lures I turned on the lathe. I used a through wire construction, so the lures are pretty stout. I gave them both a quick paint job, then sealed them up. The brass head will cause the front of the lure to sink I believe? The little lure body is 2-7/8" long. The bigger lure is 3-1/2" long. Are you up for a challenge Jim Champion? I'll send you the lures. I don't want anything for them. You just have to catch a fish using one of them. I haven't a clue as to how they will work? So it will fall to your fishing skills.... Of course we will require "photo" proof of your catch. :eyebrow: Once you catch a fish, you can either keep the lures, or send them off to another of our fishermen to continue the challenge? It'll at least give you an excuse to go fishing... :laf:

Great idea! They look like a good lure to me.
Those look like they will do the job.
And I like the idea of the challenge.
Thats purty dang cool :yoyo:
:mad3: :mad3:
Trying to suck one of us into losing them beautiful lures is a nasty trick.
Looks like they would kill the pike. Dave, do they free float and sink from weight as you reel them ya think? or does the tip sink leaving the tail bobbing?
Just in time for the spring Jim.
Dave,
Pretty neat looking lures and a really great idea.

Todd, I think the tip will sink like a weighted jig head. Figure it should be worked like a jig to give a bouncy retrieve?

I dont know I keep missing these posts. :argh:
I'm definitely in Dave, I'll give it a whirl. I'm gonna be out there slinging lures no doubt.
If they are brass down through the center, some glass beads inside them could make them deadly. :eyebrow:
