Title: Young ones at the LBL
Post by: Bills Custom Calls on January 26, 2009, 04:23:32 AM
I have been thinking about bringing my 9 year old grandson (Kurtis) to the LBL this year.He won't be carrying a gun cause his arms are so short he can't even hold a youth 22 rifle.

In Ohio He falls under the apprentice program and does not need any license and he hasn't taken the hunters saftey course yet either, but he does like walking in the woods and he tries to use hand calls
So would I need to get him an LBL permit, and without an ID card how would I go about that.

I am not worried about anyone in the groupe that may be drinking or cursing around him,his mother my daughter
would make a sailor blush  :doh2:  :laf: and he has met HaMer also

he wont need a hunting license even if he does hunt. any youth under 12 doesnt need a hunting license. i have a 22lr chipmunk he could use, if you want i could bring it along. my 6 year old shoots it just fine from shooting sticks. i also have an h&r single shot in 357mag youth model its a little heavy but that is what my 8yr old uses. im planning on being down their late thurs or early friday morning. just let me know i dont mind a bit to bring it along

I still haven't got my daughter and SIL convinced that Kurtis can miss a couple days of school for
this trip.

She is alot like me don't push for the answer or it will be a BIG NO
But I will know in enough time to answers all the questions that have been asked

HaMer I am sure Kurtis would be happy to drive for a minute but after that we will probably need a tow truck  :laf:

Alscalls
You should have seen Kurtis when Glen picked up the box call I got from you,Glen don't know how close he came to getting his ass kicked till I called him off  :roflmao:

Yes I remember it Glen  just like it was yesterday, and Kurtis remembers you also. You should feel lucky that he will be strapped in the back seat of the Durango, but wait till you get behind the wheel of his MeMaw's car.
I am not sure the seat belt will hold him.  :roflmao: :roflmao:
