Steve,

Nice bear, that looks to be a cinnamon, unless that is just the flash causing it.  I have a question for you.  Do you put your trail cam in some sort of box or protective device.  I have had one incident where I came back to the bait stand and my camera was destroyed.  By the way where are you at.

I am not allowed to bait here, even for a camera. I have tried to get a bear on camera without bait but.........no go.
Nice pics.  :eyebrownod:

Steve,

Thanks for the picture of the box, will make something similar this week when I visit Colorado.  Very cool to here you talk about having your wife with you, mine came with me last year, had a sow and her cubs come in, I can relate to the the wife's expressions and reactions, priceless.  Baiting not only gives you moments like that, but also lets you watch them and observe as well as allowing you to be selective in what you hunt.  My wife also brought up something that changed what I bring into the stand, bear repellent, still have a pistol, but in the case of this sow, if she would have gotten aggressive etc.. I would have had to shoot her, thereby killing the cubs as well, repellent solves that problem.  Did not mean to hijack your thread.  Again thanks for the picture, hope you get one, let me know.

Nice pics. Good lookin bear, I wish one like that would come in for me in Sept.
up in Canada. I've yet to have anything other then black come in. The area we hunt
in Ontario isn't real strong on different color phases.
I have to make me a box like that too. I have a different camera then the last times I've
been up there, I'd just as soon it didn't get munched up right a way.  :nono:
Keep the pics comin.

I think Windevice is going to be a camera safe dealer.
I know when I was building his site for him, he sent me a bunch of info and pictures on some really nice ones that he was getting affiliated with....along with his camera arms and tree mounts etc. But he had me wait to put them in and never got back.

Cool pics.
I watched Man Eaters last night and they had a bunch of bear attacks on there. Kinda freaked me out since my two little girls live in Northern Wis (Bear Country) with their mother.

That's one way to look at it VV :laf:
Unfortunately they are intrigued by the forest up there and she avoids it. It actually acts as a baby sitter for her.  :holdon:

That bear in the first set of pictures looks HUGE.  I've never been bear hunting, but that is the kind of bear I would want to get.

Getting one with a bow would have to be the ultimate way to get a bear.

That lock box for the camera is the best one I think I have ever seen.  Very cool!

Had to move my site as there were other hunters in the area that took three bears and my bait was not getting hit.I finely got my second site up and running (late because of all the snow we got last year),and it just got a hit yesterday.
Hope you enjoy the pics. The first one is a real picture from my #1 bait site.

Good hunting,Steve
