While sitting on a Deer Stand this past weekend on a big Cotton field I had only seen one Deer out about 350 yards a pretty nice Buck but not a shooter and it was getting close to dark and I was getting a little bored sitting there and all of a sudden I caught movement to my right out about 50 yards. Wallah!!! an insurgent in armorer at 50 yards, grabbed my Artillery loaded with a 85 grain Barnes TSX armorer piercing shells, carefully adjusting my wind age and elevation just as he was about to roll out of sight,I eased off the switch and a cloud of Red filled my scope and the Insurgent was taken out of action.
Below you can see the affect of a Barnes TSX Bullet.

You sure opened that one up nicely enough. :biggrin:
BTW, those things are pretty good eating. Kinda taste like pork. :wink:
I don't know what they taste like but I would have thought it would be like Chicken. A couple of the guys this past weekend killed a couple of the Porkers thats running around there, so I guess we will try them out. They weighted about 85 lbs and will be crockpotted. cc

I will be leaving tomorrow to go back down to the Wanderosia to Hunt all next week, We have one of the Hogs in the freezer and plan to try him out so will let you guys know how they are. We leave the Dillo's out there for the Coyotes so they get a good meal once in a while , Everyone buys License as lot of the stands we hunt from are vi sable from the road and easy for the Wardens to check you out and we don't want to set a bad example as we are there for the long haul, I think they are aware that we manage the game pretty well as they never brother us, the cooler? it was painted that way when we got it but the guy did a pretty good job, the Wench works great when Doe killing time comes around or when you kill a decent Buck. An 85 grain Barnes is a little bit of a overkill for a Dillo but good Target practice and I try to never miss an opportunity. cc
Good luck Carl and as usual bring some pics at least :wink:.
A week long hunting trip sounds mighty good to me. ;yes;
Good hunting!
I sure hope I get to meet you and do some calling with you this year Carl. And, best of luck in the meantime.
