Went 2 for 2 on the bunnies with my old childhood shotgun. Put out a flock of turkeys, just out of range for a modified 20 guage. I did miss on a pair of grouse, pretty thick when they went up.
What the hell is this you put me on ??????? ( he was holding to the ground with his paw lol )

You can tell its been pretty warm, that first smaller rabbit had a big fat grub in it. The dark spot on the front leg.
Good to see you got out. I hate those warbles. We get them in our squirrels sometimes when it's been warm like this fall.
Jim
Is that what they're called warbles ? I know they're fat little nasty critters lol. Didnt hurt the meat any.
Hunting rabbits w/ my beagle growing up was one of my favorite things!
That pix is just sooo cool.
Great pics's Silencer and good job :highclap:
:yoyo: :congrats: :yoyo:
We always called them warbles. They are larvae from the bot fly. Here is some more info

What is the model of that classic shotgun?
Ithaca Model 37.
I had one of the model 37 featherlight 12 gauge growing up. It was a great gun. About 20 years ago somebody stole it out of my house. :argh:
WW is correct. I'm trying to find out the age of the gun w/out any luck on the net. I'm 37 and my grandad had it around long before I was even thought of lol.. I remember him telling me he got it to use up in NY state where they have slug only, I've seen a few old black and white photo's of whitetails and that shotgun. It has a slug barrel and a place to screw in a peep sight.
Found what I was looking for, my serial number falls in this range 62901 - 115350 1946. He must have got it when he got out of the service at that time.

I've seen some first hand & they are very well put together & they use a fancier grade of wood on them too. :eyebrow:
Slick deal Silencer! :yoyo:
I got one of them newer Ithacas, not a sanducky model though, I know I love mine.
all the old-timers and some of my buddies from the southern tier use'm on deer, theres are all 16ga's though
I was going to ask you if it was an Ithica, ejects the shells out of the bottom don't it? I had a friend in high school that had one of those.
Yep, they eject out the bottom. I think my next new shotgun will be a newer Ithaca.
the newer ones are nice, they're puttin briley screw-in chokes in'm, along with a beefed up/longer reciever to handle 3" shells
Just love the 37's. Got one in 12g modified that I used to use when we had a good number of grouse. Used it on bunnies a couple of times till I noticed a few new scratches, so I switched to my Mossy. My cousin has a 37 in 20g, his brother one in 12, and my uncle one in 16. I''m thinkin' real hard at getting the Big Dawg a new one in 12 when he can handle it.
I've got one in 20 gauge that used to be my dads when he was younger. I love it.
