Title: First Smalley of the season.
Post by: FinsnFur on April 21, 2018, 08:03:10 PM
This weather's got me about a month behind. We still got snow on the ground in shadey spots. In fact we just got cleaned up from a big snowstorm.
Today it finally hit 50.
Caught this little guy dragging a Shad rap over a wing Dam. I think they're grouping up getting ready but it's still way too cold. In fact this guy didn't even strike. I accidentally snag hooked him in the gut. It makes me wonder if there was a group of them laying down there all lethargic like.

Niiice bass!

Re weather:  My wife and I went on a tulip cruise this evening.  There are fields of commercial tulips for the cut flower market, like 40 acres of saturated color at a time.  I forgot my camera, took a few pics with my phone and can't remember how to get them out of my phone into my computer.

Anyway, spring here in the valleys, everything blooming, mowed our lawn twice.  You need to move to Canada and get away from those cold long winters!

Looks like a nice size fish, not a "little guy."
And they fight so much bigger when foul hooked

Nice one for the first of the year.  We are in the middle of a cold snap out here, only up to 82 today.

John does have a way of bringing us back to reality.  The reality that it is much nicer there (right now) than here.  But just wait.  Ohio will have spring and no rain before too long.  I have heard that it is going to be June 21st followed by heat and humidity on June 22nd.

We could use some of that rain out here.  Been as dry as a popcorn fart out here.
