A dangerous precedent to all states

An urgent alert: Nevada Senate Bill 221

This is a gun registry. In a nut shell, if signed into law it would require a background check when a firearm is sold/transferred between private individuals. If it becomes law it will affect every private sale in Nevada, including to holders of CCW’s. A dangerous precedent to set for any/all states to follow.

The text of the bill can be read here…

http://openstates.org/nv/bills/77/SB221 ... D00010764/

It has passed Nevada State legislature and is on Governor Brian Sandoval’s desk. According to local news he will supposedly veto this bill. While this is in general a pro gun state with pro gun law enforcement, "supposedly" is not good enough.

Those who jump on band wagons to fight gun control can contact and urge Governor Sandoval to veto SB221. You DO NOT have to be a Nevada resident to do so.

I certainly hope the total lack of response here is NOT an indication of a total lack of support bhy the folks here on something that could become a precedent in any state if this bill is signed into law here.

It's a 10 second phone call to vote option #2 to veto the bill.

Thanks for putting this back up.  It is an easy process - like Ladobe wrote, just dial the number in the link above and just press 2 - you don't talk to anyone..

To update... The Governor vetoed SB221 Thursday 6/13.

79 hits on this thread and only one reply in support (thanks Dave).    I hope all of you made the painless 10 second call - iot does matter no matter what state you reside in.   Thanks if you did... shame on you if you didn't.   :rolleye:

FWIW I seen it elsewhere before you posted it and made the call to Brian's auto teller.
But for the record...the topic "hits" your reporting, assuming your actually referring to "views", is not soley indicative to the number of people who read your thread. It also includes search engine spiders and web bots that open the thread...and sometimes that can be more then the number of actual warm bodies that did so.

For the record, the hits here included memebers that did not respond at all whether they did or did not take the trouble to support it before of during.   FWIW, FNF is one of four firearms/hunting related forums out of the five I was involved with this alert that DID NOT respond.   Between all four of them many hundreds of hits - lots of forum members.   But one forum did get behind it with a lot of support, and all but all of it from members who do not live in NV.   Sure says alot about that forum, and it sure says alot about the other four.

It does include member views yes. I mean seriously it only stands to reason.
What I'm saying is you, me, or the pope have no idea how many members actually did view it verses robots and search engines, based on the "number of views" your referring to, because that number includes both.
Heck you dont know what maybe 20 or 30 people made the call and didnt want to post about it.
In our own defense here, and you have to admit this....FnF never did really meet up to your standards. You've said it numerous times.

Ran across this on 24 campfire, Facebook, Ruger forums, Nevada shooters, Fins and Fur and another  forum I can't recall.. In that order..
Didn't realize I needed to post in the actual threads to be counted as calling in.

I am somewhat like CCP.  I received it in one of the PAC emails and think I also saw something about it on Drudge before it was posted here.  I called when I got the PAC email which was before it was posted here.

Now we just have to wait to see if they try to overturn the veto and if they get the support that they are want to get him not supported in his next election.

Did ya realize that you might need to start realizing things more better, Richard?   When I realized I missed this thread it was too late to call but even if I realized I needed to call I, like you, didn't realize I was supposed to post in this thread afterward.  I guess I need to start realizing things more better too.

This forum's roots was based on banding together, in negativity/hate and discontent that was not only acceptable, it was promoted.   Got a lot of support too.  So I guess it depends on the cause to get open support here.

A lot of great folks that were here from the start I've not seen post here for a long time, got tired of it I imagine same as I did.   I've stopped in off and on since... not near as much negativity so kept doing so - there are some great folks here.   But I've also noticed some of the charter members that are still here don't post very often anymore...

So you're right Jim, this forum has never been top shelf in my book even though it has/had some really great people.   Let's call it my error for looking for open support here on something I felt was important to all, something I will not do again.   :readthis:

Well...I am sorry you feel the way you do. I really am.
I'm confused though as to why you would look for support in a forum that you dont like and continue to bash. That just dont make sense to me
