That seems like a reasonable opening date, Alscalls Al. It opens way too early in Ky., August 15, way too hot for me. I don't kill any more than we will eat now, but used to give them a rough time. When it starts getting real cool at night, it is much more enjoyable for this old possum.

Semp, I'm sure you are correct. I didn't notice I was looking at last year's pamphlet. It is still far too hot though, IMO. Hell, you have to be real careful or you'll have the critters spoil.
I like waiting till first frost....... But most years I cant last that long....... So I take a cooler and skin em on the spot.... :biggrin:

No question about it being hot. If I go that early in the season, I usually quit by 8 or 9am because of the heat build up. :whew:
