Title: Bergara barrels

Don't believe the hype. I tried to install a new Berara barrel on a friends Encore, the barrel looked terrible. Once it was installed the action would not open. On top of that it looked like it had been bounced off the floor on crown before the finish was added. The hinge pin almost wouldn't fit through the hole and once I got it in I had to beat it out. Sent it back and ordered a TC

I don't know anything about Bergara except it is made in Spain.  My friend's 14 year old grandson was shooting a made in Spain CVA and it blew up on him.  The boy lost two fingers and mangled his hand.  Problems with Spanish barrels are not isolated incidents.  I won't go near one.
