Went out this morning, this is the only guy I'd kicked up.  Without snow on the ground its hard hunting without a good dog.  He'll be added to the pot with the other odds and ends we've been picking up in between duck seasons.   I really wanted to jump some turkeys, seen alot of tracks but no birds.

Me either. :sad2:
To me that's the only way to hunt cottontail!  :eyebrow:

I don't know about River Rabbit, but we had Swamp Rabbit. The dog would hit their track  & those big rascals would light a shuck & head outta country in a beeline.  :madd:

Rabbits and squirrel are a great way to spend a fall day.  We have a bag limit of ten per day on cottontail and the season never closes.  No limit and no season on jacks.  Occasionally I'll start the morning calling predators until about ten, put the centerfire away grab the 10/22 and start walking for rabbits.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs
