Whenever I try to use one of the smilies not shown above the reply box I click on the [more] tab. The box opens right away. When I click on the smilie I want everything freezes for 10-15 seconds. Then it posts the smilie text I chose. See >> :sick2: Now if I want more then one from that box I just open it back up & click away. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: ;yes; ;yes; Something is :loco: here. :confused:
Yeah :confused: and I can't reproduce the problem myself. Anyone else?
Where's the bring me a beer smilie ? :dance: :dance: :mad2: :mad2: :fingerx: :mad3: :shock2: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :dance: :jump: :jump: :jump:
I'm trying to reproduce it once again. :sleep2: :jump: :laugh2: :sad3: :mad2: :mad3:
:sick2: It worked fast for the 1st line & then reverted when I tried to make it work again. :doh2:
Just put the :laugh2: on the front line & I'll be good with that......
I don't have smileys at all, and this site loads super slow all of a sudden!
I don't see any problems with how the site or its smilies are working. :shrug:

Yeah it's just those extra ones. :confused: Oh well much to the dismay of some I'll survive. :biggrin: :biggrin:
Even the extra ones seem to work fine for me. :jump:
Is it still doing it Glen? Does it come and go, or happen steadily?
Is there anything else running while it happens or certain scenarios that induce it?
And what browser are you using, and it's version numbers.
How do I find the version? It's usually under, the help or about tab.
Well lets see here. :shock2:
:loco: :shock2:
Today it took about 3 seconds after each click.
[more] click-- about 3 seconds.
:shock2: -- same
:loco: -- same
:shock2: -- right away
It's still doing it but it's moving faster. :shrug:
Windows 7 Home Premium Ed. 64 bit OS
I am now on FF. :sick2: :loco: :shock2:
FF is immediate. Click BOOM smilie. Click BOOM smilie. Click BOOM smilie.
I think I might go back to using FF for here. :dance: :jump:
:doh2:
Internet Explorer sucks. It always has and it always will.
Did I ever post the deal about the coders putting comments in their scripts to identify the process? Let me tell ya all a little story. :eyebrow: :eyebrownod:
First of all the scripts that make any website function looks like a bunch of puked out letters and symbols to the ordinary joe. It's all the coding that makes what you do and see, possible.
Here's a small example;
if (!('setRequestHeader' in test))
return submitThisOnce(document.forms.postmodify);
}
// !!! Currently not sending poll options and option checkboxes.
var x = new Array();
var textFields = ['subject', 'message', 'icon', 'guestname', 'email', 'evtitle', 'question', 'topic'];
var numericFields = [
'board', 'topic', 'last_msg',
'eventid', 'calendar', 'year', 'month', 'day',
'poll_max_votes', 'poll_expire', 'poll_change_vote', 'poll_hide'
];
var checkboxFields = [
'ns'
];
for (var i = 0, n = textFields.length; i < n; i++)
if (textFields[i] in document.forms.postmodify
How's that? Does anyone have any idea what that is or does?
Without getting too into it and confusing everyone take a look at the line that has the two slashes before it. Like this \\
It says !!! Currently not sending poll options and option checkboxes.
Thats a comment by the developer to let him know that the variables below that are what sends the poll options when you set up a poll.
Listen to this :eyebrow:
More and more developers are putting code into their scripts to check to see if your using Internet Explorer. If you are, several of them are closing the request. Which means if your on a site and click a picture and it's suppose to get larger, it simply ends the process and does nothing. These guys are sick of trying to make programs and scripts that are compatible with a browser that fails in so many ways and refuses to accommodate updated languages.
One particular comment sticks out to me and I'll never forget it. I can't remember what the script was for, but I noticed a comment in it that said "// Check for Internet Explorer, check if version 6 or later."
Then right below that it said, "// FK it...if Internet Explorer is present close window, end process.
LMAO! I about died laughing.
The moral of the story;
M.I.E. (microsoft internet explorer) still sucks and wether they want to fall behind or not, they are going to get pushed out if they dont try to keep up. :eyebrow:
:whew: I'll just use FF. :jump:
