We have to go through a check point every time we go to Tucson.  All roads headed north out of Arizona have check points.  If there aren't any cars behind us we usually chat a bit with the agents, thank them for their service in spite of their president, etc.  Recently I asked one why he is at a check point and not at a detention center changing diapers and making sandwiches.  He said he just got off that duty after a month and he back at the check point for a month then back into the desert for a month of catch and release.
