First about the call.It is a deer call made of cocobola with an adjustable tone board. The call will do anything from an agressive buck grunt to a doe bleat. It has a friction oil finish inside and out.

Hi my name is Bill Grove and I live in East Central Ohio where I spent most of my life.I started huting rabbits, coon and deer when I was 15 years old
In the winter of 1984 I moved to the NW suburbs of Chicago, and that is where I met my wife Chris. We have 2 daughters Lisa 27,and Halle 21
Lisa has 2 children and is a department manager at Wal-Mart
Halle has no children and is an assitant manager at Family Dollar
I started hunting coyotes in the winter of 2006 after seenig them in the driveway and I thought that was to close to the house.
I started turning calls in March of 07,but it wasn't till June of 07 a coworker asked me to make him a deer call, and that brings us to Where I am today with my call building.
I have to say Thank You to some folks on this Board for their assitance in helping me become the call builder that I am
Thank You
Nice lookin call Bill!! You stopped turning that one just in time. You got some crazy lookin lines on it for sure!! You did good!!
Nice write up too!!
Altho I personally wouldn't move to Chicago in the winter intentionally!! :innocentwhistle: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Bill, I can't pretend to know anything about deer calls at all, but I can tell ya, ya make some darn perty cocobolo deer grunters. :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: The are very nice look'n calls for sure and if'n I moved to take up deer hunting, outside of moose, I'd be buying one in a heart beat.
Ya know ya don't look as scary with a beard. :innocentwhistle: Nice bucks.
Nice write up and call Bill. :congrats: :congrats:
Sounds like you're gettin those grunters down pat.
Nice looking coco grunter there Bill...
You must have more patience than I do. I can't stand driving through Chicago let alone live there :shck: I bet your much happier living away from that place aren't ya.
Steve
Nice write up Bill. I love that grunt it looks great and I'm sure it sounds even better.
Bill;
Nice looking call and write up. May have to try one of them for next deer season :yoyo:
Great looking call there Bill. I`ve made a couple and to me they sound better than a off the shelf production call when they are custom made.
Later
Rich
Bill,
Nice looking call. Not as nice as the one I got from you, but I am VERY biased in my view. :innocentwhistle:
Jerry
That is a very nice looking call Bill :).
Meridyth
Thats a beautiful piece of work, nice bio !!
Great looking call Bill. :congrats:
Jim
gee i loved the pictures, the grain in the dall as well as the finish caught my eye. never used a deer call (hunt state land afraid the hunters would stalk me) but if i had one like that i'd at least wear it outside my jacket to show it off.
I never had used a call for deer till this past season. Was lucky enough to get one of Bill's grunters and a bit of personal instruction from him. Three of the four deer I got this year were by calling. If ya haven't tried deer that way you should give it a go. It's pretty cool having a nice buck come trotting in looking.
:highclap: :congrats: :highclap: :congrats:
Nice lookin grunt'er Bill! I might have to give that method a try next year. :eyebrow:

Todd I have been told that before :laf:
Steve I did work Downtown Chicago took me 40 minutes to goet to work in the morning and 1 1/2 hours to get home in the evenings sometimes it really took a toll on my nerves.
I have a few plastic production deer calls also, and I like the sound I get from these calls much better.
Jeryy I am glad you like your Maple deer call that one could have caused me to start drinking :laf:
I have killed more deer using a deer call then stalk and hunt or just standing there waiting for one to pass by.
Stu I am glad you like the deer call you got .Chris still say it really looked like we were up to no good standing in the parking lot,and me going in and out of the durango getting things out.
Thanks for the kind words folks
Bill

Congrats Lilminnesotangl in becoming this months showcase winner! (http://www.championtannery.com/smilies/bounce.gif) You just became the new owner of Bills custom deer grunt.
Bill thanks again for jumping in and running a showcase, and putting some of your work up for grabs. Much appreciated by all.
This might be the last showcase for a while, hopefully only until next fall, as we are out of call makers interested in participating in this.
If there's anyone out there reading this that was or is hesitant....dont be shy..step up and lets get ya some exposure.
If you haven't run one and would like to or have some questions, get in touch with myself or one of the mods, and we'd be happy to hear from you.
Again, I'd like to thank the Call Makers that have a Showcase and are listed. It gives a little recognition for some of the other members that may or may not have heard of you and your call making, gives members a no risk opportunity to sample your work first hand, and I for one appreciate the hospitable generosity that has become a notorious trait for so many of you guys.
Congratulations Lilminnesotangl. :highclap: Thanks Bill for puttin it up. :congrats:
Jim, I'd be happy to put up a call for this. Don't think I can have one ready for March though.
