Jim,

Thanks for posting the pictures.  The LBL Hunt is one of the things I look forward to each year!  I really enjoy spending time with a bunch of great guys!  Meeting the guys face to face is way better than just chatting on the internet.  The coyote hunting is pretty good too!  Looking forward to getting together again!

Jim

Thanks guys.
It was kinda built on a whim. If anyone has any suggestions I will....well....I will at least listen :eyebrownod:

Same here Steve. I made it down back in 2007, and have tried to get back ever since.
It's a 1200 mile round trip for me and a whole lotta days off work. :doh2:

WOW!!! That’s a rush from the past, good memories indeed!   :highclap:

Mr. Jim… Thank you so much for doing this and for hosting a place for all of us to hang our hats.  :bowingsmilie:

I never imagined my buddy James’ little brain storm would mature to such an annual tradition. Thanks to everyone that has attended in the past "The LBL" has become "the place to be, come February".
Over the years Bopeye (James) and I have attended as often as possible, seldom have we experienced a dull moment there. Always enjoyed meeting everyone too, making many new friends along the way. Shoot, you never know who might be attending.  A couple of years ago, I ran upon a real nice chap by the name of Mr. Doug West. Doug just happens to be a 1st cousin of mine that I had not seen in over 40 ye… well... let's just say we were both kids.  Nice surprise, it was too!
Taken into account the common bond shared by most coyote callers everywhere, along with the special efforts shown by several (often unnamed) individuals the LBL attendance has grown yearly.  Along the way most of these good folks have expended untold amounts of effort, along with their time and money. More often than not they expect very little in return other than the joy of like fellowship and maybe a coyote in their sights every now and then.

I would like to give a great big THANK YOU to everyone that have helped guarantee that the LBL hunt keeps on happening.   :yoyo:

Chet

Jim, 1200 mile ROUND trip ?  Golly the way you where carrying on I thought it was 1200 miles ONE-WAY.  Jim i get in my old DODGE dually and run 19 hours none stop to Oklahoma City for a LLama show
in the spring then we run to Lincoln Nebraska for a show --around 18-20 hours depends on traffic in-louisville,Saint Louis and KC. Last week I ran 11 hours back to IOWA for my MOM's birthday party.
Maybe you need a better truck that would make it that long long distance . So come bud suck it up and put your big boy pants on and come on down and join us . :alscalls: :alscalls:
Your forever friend Steve

My big boy pants dont fit me anymore, I ripped em, Steve. :laf:
How many miles you got on that Dodge anyway? Sounds like the life of a diesel.

Post by: linemansteve on August 31, 2012, 05:51:05 AM
seeThe old dodge dually has 189,000 miles on her. She still drives down the road great and still a pleasure to drive, love my old truck. I try and take good care of it and my trailers, so far neither has left me by the side of the road broke down [ except for a ford 6.0 diesel i once owned]. I've had it and the horse trailer from Virginia to Oregon and from Florida to Michigan. Hope HaMeR doesn't see this but  I try to avoid Ohio, they always seem to hassle me. First for no plates on my trailer and now with the new trucking laws that got changed they now consider me a commercial truck :rolleye: NOW any truck over 10,001 lbs OR combined trailer gross needs a DOT # . That is turning in to a BITCH to comply with.   Steve

 :pout: :pout:  Then I'll just have to find someone else to help me shoot those coyotes I been saving for us Steve!!  :watch;

:alscalls: :alscalls:   I don't blame you none. Seems like the lawmakers don't have anything left to do up here anymore. I guess they need to make up lost income from the truckers AGAIN!!  :argh:

Is that the SAME Ford that hauled a Redbird coyote Steve!!!!!   :shock2: :sad3: :sad3:

Yep that's the one. Rolling piece of CRAP !!  traded for the Dodge and have loved it ever since

As far as the Yotes let me know and I'll borrow my wife's truck :alscalls: and sneak across the border in the middle of the night   Steve

I'm still trying to plan a trip down next year Glen. I may need a hunting partner though. I asked a local guy and he said yes he would come, but he always tends to back out at the last minute. What are the dates next year anyway?

That is pretty kewl Jimbo.  :highclap:  Whoever did that write up on the beginning of the LBL hunt could use some serious classes in writing a good article, but other than that is nice. Gives new folks an idea of what to expect up there and those of us that have been it refreshes memories. You DA MAN JIMBO!!!!  :eyebrownod:

Me, my dad and my kids are heading up to the LBL the third weekend in October. We will be staying at Paris Landing. Going to see and tour Ft. Donelson, find the remnants of Ft. Henry, go to Bubbling Springs where Jack Hinson...the War of Northern Aggression sniper lived, etc.

Then I want to take the family up through LBL to show them where we hunt, Wranglers, Golden Pond, Buffalo area, and so on. We will swing east at that point and check out where our beloved Jefferson Davis was born.

Hopefully I can hook up with Coyote101 Pat himself.
That will be more than enough to pack in for 3 day, 2 night trip. Then my daughter will have her surgery that Monday morning ( if nothing changes) to remove her very unwelcome guest.

I am also going to ask around about how the coyote population is doing this year. Hopefully thing will get better for my bestest buddy and hunting partner Coyotehunter1, so we can come and give you boys a hard time, especially bonehead Hamer.  :laf:

Hamer, here is your BITE ME in advance to whatever little come back you have for me calling you a boner, I mean bonehead, just in case I can't get on here for a few days.

Hey Bopeye...by the way, did you ever get the email I sent back on August 27th asking you if you minded me using that article?
I asked CCP since you wrote it for his site, and then shot you an email.

I changed the slideshow software on the site. The other one seemed so slow and lethargic it was crazy. You guys that visited it when it first launched, check it out and let me know if it's any quicker or if you've never visited the site let me know if you think it loads slow.

Also any suggestions as to additions to the site, any ideas thoughts etc...I'm all ears.
I thought about maybe a comment section where people could post comments about the LBL,  but...

Which weekend is the LBL hunt this year? I need to make my plans.

I want to say that it's Saturday and Sunday February 2-3, and the week leading up to it (January 28- February 1), but I want to make sure before I start putting in with the missus!

Can I get a clarification?

Thanks!
