Bills Custom Calls

We have a hen turkey that comes around the back yard every once in awhile, and she has no poulets with her,so I am guessing that something tore up the nest or the gobblers didn't do their job back in the spring

If she is in your backyard now I am guessing that she will be in your freezer by Thanksgiving.

She was earlier Jerry but Chris tried to sneak up on her with the camera  :laf:

That didn't work so well Chris said they must have real good hearing  :nono:

I told her the eyes are better then the ears in this case

Bill,

Tell her to try putting salt on the turkey's tail.  My grandfather told me that was the way to catch birds and I spent hours in his backyard with a salt shaker.  Hopefully Chris will have better luck than I did with the salt shaker.  I guess as I have grown older I have found that a shotgun works better than a salt shaker.

I'll never forget the time we were at the in laws and our kids were probably
like 5 and 6 at the time, there was a little bunny in the back yard and grandpa
told the kids the old salt on the tail trick, and I think even gave em a shaker.
Well the kids were persistent about catching this little bunny, we watched em for
a while and then just kinda quite paying attention to them. We were standing
around talking, and sure enough the kids come up carrying this little bunny.  :laf:
They were all smiles and proud as peacocks for catchin this little guy. Grandpa started
chewin the kids butts and sayin that this thing was probably gonna die now, and
was carrying on.  :doh2: :rolleye: I "respectfully" , but abruptly, stopped my father in law
mid sentence and reminded him who it was that told them the "secret" of how to catch
it in the first place.  :nono:

I really don't think Chris will fall for that salt shaker trick
And I am not gonna be the one to tell her to try it either  :nono: There are somethings you just know the outcome of before you do it  :roflmao:

Out where you're at Bill the coon probably got to it. You probably have them everywhere out there in the old fallen timber. That is some good habitat for them.
