Title: Bow Hunt Contest (Best Photo)- Vote Now
Post by: FinsnFur on January 13, 2008, 08:15:03 PM
You are voting on the best photograph.
As described in the original thread Bow Hunt Contest (http://www.finsandfur.net/forums/index.php?topic=3466.0), judging will be on the aww factor of the picture. Meaning either the size of the harvested animal/s, or the setting the pic was in, or overall picture, or all of the above. Looking for something that stands out from an ordinary hero shot here.

Largets Rack is a separate portion of this contest with a winner already determined. Again, your not voting on rack size here.

Thanks everyone!  And thanks Jim in particular.  This was fun, and I hope I draw another deer tag next year so I can participate again.

Congrats Joey.  :congrats:
One question, what do you mean draw for a tag? You, being a resident of Colorado, have to draw for a deer tag? Can't non residents just buy a tag over the counter yet?

Buy a tag over the counter?!?!? :roflmao: I wish! it took me three years to draw this tag.  The Colorado DOW dosen't offer an over counter deer tag.  Unless you've got $80,000 for the governers tag.  There are other GMU's that I could apply for and draw every year but this one is the best in my opinion.  It holds great family, friends, and critters.

I've got a friend who drew this unit on his first try two years ago, maybe I'll get lucky too.

However, the elk hunting is unlimited in this area.  Unlimited either sex tags.  As many as you want to buy.  Season runs from Sep 1 to Jan 31.  Only stipulation on elk is you can only hold one tag at a time.  Meaning you can buy a tag, kill an elk, and buy another tag.  Can't just open up on the herd ya know.

Anyhow thanks again!

Joey

I guess it's been a few years (1990  :iroll:) since I've hunted there, haven't paid attention. You could buy both deer tag, and elk tag over the counter then.
