Last year I ate turkey tag soup.  This year was different.  Opening morning I managed to get on two birds at daylight.  And was lucky enough to bring one within shotgun range.  After that first morning, I hunted 5 additional days and heard absolutely nothing on my little patch of ground.  It just seems like there are not as many birds as there used to be.  I have been seeing more coon and coyote tracks though. I wonder if there is a connection, hmmm?

Anyways, I am thankful for my one bird this year.  19 pounds, 10 inch beard, 1 inch spurs. Probably a two year old.

Congrats on the bird.
