Clyde, you are so right about Dave/Dante mentoring that young man.  I was following along Dave's reports all season of how he was progressing.  Dave went above and beyond making sure this young man did everything right.  I was over joyed when I learned of his success.  Congrats to Brady!

Tripnasty84, best of luck tomorrow.

All I got today was wet.   :whew:  Went after a blacktail buck, the real rain deer.  It was raining lightly at daylight.  The best time to hunt wet coast blacktails is in the rain, and it kept raining harder.  After walking abandoned roads, through wet brush and grown up clearcuts and sitting on a couple of long calling stands in rain that got heavier by the hour, by noon I was wet to the skin in places despite rain coat and pants.  When the going gets tough... I decided to go to town, get something warm and head on home.  Never saw a single deer track fresh nor old in any of the road mud.

Oops, I was rifle hunting, not bow hunting so pardon my posting on this thread.

Dave

Thanks guys - he's a good kid and I'm only nudging him in the right direction.

Here's a clip I got of one I'm after.  Ran by me at 25 yards chasing a doe and stopped about 35 out, but it was a bad angle so no shot.  Hopefully it posts correctly - big heavy 8 point.  Thanks God Brady didn't get him or there'd be nowhere for him to improve!

What a buck!  Hope you get him!  I'd li8ke to see a close-up of you holding him.

Very nice. The one in the truck has one heck of a nice sleek coat on.
