Not a bad morning. Got to hunt for about 25 minutes before heading out for Arkansas. Was able to call this lil feller in. 23#, 11†beard, 1-1/4 spurs. Momma wasn’t real impressed with having to work up a turkey when she was wanting to get on the road.

What are you running for an optic on that scattergun?
It's a True Glo. It was cheap enough and works, but I think I may have gone a different route if I hadn't been hard pressed for time. I have a plastic saddle mount that it's sitting on. Eventually I will have the receiver drilled and tapped and put a different red dot on it.
The shotgun is a Remmy 870 with the forcing cone lengthened and a custom made 660 choke.
I been thinking about an optic but pretty happy with just a bead, mostly hunt in the timber so close shots usually. I been thinking about one of the See All sights, no batteries, seems perfect for turkey hunting.

My eyes went squirrely about 15 years ago. I have slowly been changing everything over to optics. I even have an RMR to put on my carry pistol some day.
Those Seeall sights look promising. I like the fact that there isn't a battery to deal with. It would be interesting to see one in person.
Battery life with the Tru GLo is an issue. I am afraid to turn it on in the morning and off in the afternoon. I have an Aimpoint that I left on for almost 6 years before the battery died but I am NOT going to spend the $$ on another Aimpoint. That Primary Arms sight has one flaw (I have one and learned the hard way). If you look at the sight from the turkey's perspective you will see a a rose colored "eye" looking back at you. It has to do with the coatings on the scope. Same with the Bushnell TRS-25. I have spooked at three birds that I know of due to that "eye". I now use a Eotech XPS sight. It is pure clear glass with no colored reflection. Now some folks will say it is not a problem. Just keep the gun tilted slightly to avoid the direct reflection to the turkey until the last moment and raise the gun. That's not always possible in my opinion. Which is worth about what you just paid for it. :laf:
