They bailed!!
The last several days when I peek in there they all looked like drunk, sloppy tired, droopy eyed, homeless, carpet baggers.
Tonight I decided I was gonna take another pic of them before I watered the plant since they were all setting up bright eyed, bushy tailed. I talked to them as I approached the plant and as soon as I touched the leaves, they jumped ship.
A couple of them nose dived on a slight angle like they knew how to fly but had no idea really. Hitting the ground and their legs collapsing under them, wings still spread as they tumble and skid on the sidewalk several inches... kinda confirmed that.
I was so awestruck that as I tried to get a location on them all to pick them up and put them back, they scurried in all different directions and I lost em. 
They could fly a feet feet at a time. I hope they make it before some feral cat finds em.

Well, when you see what looks like a young bird, even if it is an eagle, you can think to yourself 'that one made it out of my nest'.
