I am trying to go one step at a time on the difficulty scale here but I ran into a snag......My vice broke in the middle of a glue up and thew me off a little....I pre-drilled the pieces and used a dowel to line up while clamping and removed it while the glue was wet....Probably not the best method but it seemed to work until my vice broke.
Keep in mind all this wood is from an old fence post and a cedar log from my farm....No store bought stuff.
I used a miter saw for all the cuts  a drill press....a broken vice and 2 clamps. I need to go buy a new band saw and a good vice but I still like the looks of the call.

The 4 pics show all 4 sides as if you were turning it around in your hand....
The knot is supposed to be tight on one side and unravel as yo tun the call then back to tight at the starting point.

Comments welcome ......

Al,

Doesn't look all that bad to me.  Sorry to hear about you vise problem.  If you have drilled a hole in the different woods you can take a machine bolt to do the glue up.  Just put a fender washer on each end to keep it on the ends.  It also helps to put a piece of waxed paper, foil or something similar between the washer and the wood to act as a release agent.

Thanks fellas...I like it too, and she sounds GREAT!

Thanks Jerry....I am actually thinking of doing a tennon on each piece but that would probably take twice as long....I been working on this one for 3 days....

I think it looks good just the way it is.

I only look at the pictures too. Oh wait you were talking about tutorials.  :roflmao:
