Title: "A Family Auction"...For a Dear Friend of Ours.
Post by: HuntnCarve on October 03, 2013, 03:33:32 PM
Sometimes when I make and carve a call I figure it has a purpose?  As most of you know I quit selling a while back, but kept making the occasional call just to keep from getting rusty.  Meantime, the calls end up piling up in a plastic tub awaiting a future home?
Well I finally got an answer to why I made these particular calls?
I would like to auction them off here with the proceeds to go to our friend Jim Champion's daughters for spending money.  We watched them grow up here, and shared in their triumphs, and now their sorrows.  I have a daughter and son of my own, that I pray never have to endure what Jim’s girls are facing.  As a father and husband, I thank God everyday that they are in my life , safe and happy.
So this is just my way, our way, of trying to ease a little of Jim’s family’s burden in the days to come.  Jim has done a lot for all of us throughout the years.  So along with all our prayers, we can offer this little token gesture.

With thoughts and prayers…

HuntnCarve
Dave

I will run this auction (on all calls shown) until Sunday, October13th, 2013 ending at 6PM Eastern Time.  Please specify what call you are bidding on. Ex. “Call A, Call B”..  I will cover all shipping and handling and will coordinate things with the winning bidders.
Thank you all and God Bless.

Wow, definitely not what I had in mind when I let that cat out of the bag.
I just been bottling it up and wanted to get some of it off my mind and I know you guys can take the punishment of listening...well...reading. Never expected anything like this to happen, I shoulda known better.
I got about halfway through your post Dave and had to go into the other room. It's incredibly over whelming when you stop and think about how tightly knitted the people on this forum really are.

I wish it would have never come to this, but I'm kinda to blame for running a forum with people like you guys. I dont even know how to respond right now. The girls are gone at the moment. Ones at skit night practice, and the other found as friend with a horse. They've never really followed a lot of Dads websites but I just know they are going to get wide eyed when I show them this.

"Ya reap what you sow Jim."   Many's the time friends here have help me over the years.  In the meantime, keep on taking care of our girls.  And remember, there's a lot of shoulders here to lean on in the days ahead.

It is kind of weird when I think about it but we are kind of like a family on this forum. I usually check this forum about five times a day every single day, all year long. A lot of the guys on here I feel like I know them very very well even though I have never met them in person.
And you, Mr. HuntnCarve, are one helluva an artist, and gentleman.

I can remember back when I was going through a lot of physical pain and suffering, in and out of the hospital and therapy.  Our daughter would bring her lap top into the hospital every night and show me the comments posted on FnF.  Yes indeed a lot of good friends here.

I dont even know what to say or how to thank  you guys.
I hate being in this situation, and I hate people knowing Im in this situation. You guys have made an incredible impact already on many things around this household. Something I never expected, but can now say I am so grateful for.
Thanks so much to every one of you.

Not a problem at all and we are all glad to help.  If we lived closer we could take you out for a beer or something, but since we don't you will just have to 'live with us the way we are'.
