Jigs, twister tails, rod & reel I use for Bluegill & Rock Bass. Sometime I just toss the jigs & reel them back with a rod tip twitch changing colors til I get hits. Other times the only way this setup works is by setting a tiny bobber 3-5 feet deep & watching for the hit as the jig falls. If no hit then pop the bobber & let the jig settle again. It appears that hook needs closed up a bit. Musta caught a limb fish or sumthing. :innocentwhistle: :innocentwhistle:

Interesting technique with the bobber :wo: Never heard of or considered jigging with a bobber, but I can see the advantages.
I'm kinda surprised to see how you hook your twister. I would expect to get a lot of missed strikes like that, do you?
have you ever ran the twister all the way up to the jig head, completely covering the shank of the hook?

I have a few missed strikes that way. They just nibble the tail. They hit most of the time on the fall & it seems like they are just inhaling it. I've hooked it up your way too & had good luck. The bobber idea always gave me a lot of depth control for when they are suspended at a certain depth. It's neat to see the little bobber suddenly just dive for the bottom. LOL
Last Spring I landed a 2 or 2 1/2lb channel cat with that rig & I've gotten lucky & managed to haul in a couple of 3-4lb lunker largemouth. :whew: That is a fight for sure!!
Bobber with a blue and white tube on a jig head and i have slayed them all day long
Boy...I'm used to wrangling bass with my braided lines and medium/heavy rod. I dont know if I'd know what to do if I hit one with my ultra light and it's 3lb test mono. :laf:
