Did the bullet enter the back of his head and then just exit the front? Or was his nose all that you could see sticking out of the hole? Because I know that you would never pull a center of the head shot that much.

The hog was standing up on it's front legs facing me. It knew I was there & wouldn't stand up. Last Sunday I missed it 2x with the FireBall from on top of the knob behind me. It was a 300yd shot & I couldn't quite dial it in. Everything inside the skull was mush & I think the lower jaw on these critters is fairly hard for that 40gr HP bullet to blow up that much on entry.
BTW-- I've pulled em before!! Aint no sense in pretending to be a crack shot. :biggrin:

Actually the true story reads like this:
I was setting at my portable shooting table when this groundhog pops up. I laid the 204 across the bags & promptly missed. When the dust settled I could see him out there just laughing & pointing at me :hahaha:. That was when I thought "Game On'!! So I grabbed the MKII & some QuikShoks & took a steady aim offhand & gave it just a little Kentucky elevation & windage. It looked a lot like this. Anywho,, Just as the HaMeR fell the little bugger ducked!! I couldn't believe it!! Luckily tho,, the crack of the shot travelled faster than the boolet!! When he stuck his head back up to see what made the noise that little segmented HP boolet found noggin bone & his 4th of July came & went with a bang!! :eyebrow: So now you know "The rest of the story"!! :eyebrownod:
I was hesitant about posting it in fear of nobody believing me but I see you guys know your groundhogs & have apparently gone thru what I did yesterday. So for all you non believers out there,,, Jerry & Bob have my back on this one!! :roflmao: :roflmao:

HaMeR, good looking pistol. Have one just like it but with a clamp on scope mount. Don't like it because it interfers with the rear sight. What is the one you are using?
