It happens more then we think. Wouldnt you think they would run from such a noisy machine?

You would think Jim, but it happens.

I am in a program with the NRCS to kind of help wildlife. I flag my fences and when I am mowing hay, I mow from the inside out. This allows the deer, rabbits, etc. to have a place to flush to without having to cross open ground. It works. Before, they would sit tight in the middle because they really didn't have any place to go without crossing open ground. Now they are more prone to sneak out as I get to the outside. Granted, in the spring it's mostly young stuff that isn't as savvy, but I used to hit at least a couple of them every year, now I seldom hit anything. It always kind of bothered me when I would hit a deer or something, especially a young buck.

It's a shame, that's quite a specimen of a buck.

I am not sure, but I think that is how you hunt without needing a license.
