Title: I finally got it done

I've been out every day since the season opened on Saturday, but just couldn't get any takers.  :madd:

That changed this morning about 6:30 when three little jakes and a bunch of hens, followed by two big toms, came into the cow pasture I was set up in. The jakes and toms spotted my decoys and headed toward them. When the lead tom got to about thirty-five yards I pulled the trigger, and down he went.  :biggrin:

Here he lays with my decoys and some cows in the background. I was setup along the tree line to the left of the picture:

Twenty two and a quarter pounds, ten and a quarter inch beard, and one inch spurs.

One down, one to go. I'm going to try to get the next one with the Encore .410 handgun.

I know what you mean about takers, it's been tough birds just won't finish around here.

I've heard 4 toms so far this season.  And two of them weren't on my ground.    Very slow on my little patch of ground.  I'm going to wait this rain out and try again next week.
