For predator hunting what gun seems to grab the most attention when you open the cabinet or safe?
For me it's the 204. My brother has my 22-250 and since getting the 204 I haven't missed it as much.
Cam usally grabs his 20 gauge and a hand full of B-shot. He has mentioned taking the .17 or .22 mag this year since I take the 204, but it takes him a few seconds to locate stuff in the scope and I'm trying to get him more shooting time in to help him there.
Custom Mauser in .257 Ackley Improved.
Either my 22-250 Remington or my ar-15. I've killed more with the Remington. Missed and lost more with the ar-15.
Bob
.257 Roberts Improved / Mauser action.

Here is a photo of my .257 Ackley and a mangy coyote.

I use my 16" LW AR-15 that I built just for predator hunting. MI VHNTR
Rich- Beautiful gun. I had a .308 that was dads in a mauser. Smoothest action I have ever held and a tack driver. After my divorce, my nephew ended up with it so I could pay off the lawyers. I miss hunting with that gun.
"If" I take the rifle .222savage topped with 3x9 simmons, but anymore I take the shotgun only with 4 buck.
awh,
Mine don't shoot all that bad either.

Savage 22-250 or Rem 1187 with a .660 choke and Dead Coyote loads.
Brent
Stevens(Savage) 200 in .22-250. Light and accurate. A pleasure to carry and shoot. Also same model in .223.
Ruger M77 MarkII Stainless 22-250, fitted into a Boyds Varminter thumbhole stock
my go to gun depends on whats in the truck at the time and what hunting season is on  here lately its been the 1187 or the pellet gun ... oh ya .177 RWS chrony's at around 940 with a 7 grn pill and it smokes prarie dogs out to 50 yds drt :eyebrow:
Remington SP10 10ga w/ #4buck or the 11-87 12ga w/ #4buck, then there's the 45LC Ruger Bisley SS Blackhawk, & of course CDM (Coyote Disaster Master) the Browning A-bolt Composite Stalker in 25WSSM. :yoyo:
It's either the M4 or the .17 for me. I can pull off snap shots with the Bushmaster and take down anything i want with a well placed shot from the .17. I only bring the 12ga if my brother has the rifle. He didn't get the shooting gene. :sneer:
For the past year or so my "go-to" rifle has been a semi-customized Marlin .444
In Texas, we can hunt feral hogs 24/7 365 any means.... and from Feb. thru Sept. I hunt them on a regular basis. The lever action just shoulders so nice and is fantastic on hogs in the thick brush.
Here in east TN it has been the 3" Model 12, and the 22 mag lately, because of the regulations, but when i can it is a Vanguard in 223.
mossberg 12ga with a shot barrel for small game and a slug barrel i can hunt ever thing in newyork with it but mostly my go to is not a gun but my bow

Depended on where I would be calling. In the wide open spaces of the wilds usually one of my 17 caliber wildcats. On windy days or in thick cover The Stealth (6X47). On ADC ranches where hang ups were common - usually one of my 6mm wildcats or a 270 Win.
Did a lot of calling with my specialty pistols as well, and in the end with my black powder small bore muzzle loaders.
Got a bunch of 22 caliber center fire rigs I used to use for calling too, but they all became safe queens when I got into the 17's about a decade ago.
Now my "go to" is the remote for the entertainment system. :rolleye:
L.
Ar-15 is the gun I take when I get to go out.And that's been a big zero this year.

For coyotes....
Ol' Reliable: my Remington 700 ADL short action in 222 Rem., one of the early models (1963) w/ 20" factory barrel.
My old favorite is a Winchester 670 in a 243 that my Dad bought me when I was 11 years old. She ain't pretty, but shoots great
Bushmaster Predator or my Parker-Hale 1200 Safari Grade in 22-250 or my Stoeger 12 Gauge & Dead Coyote Shells
I am getting ready to add another Rifle to the Mix after Christmas, well MAYBE I will :laf:
Bob
Well the last couple years all the hunting I have done is varmint control in my garden. This has been done with a Savage 93R17 .17 HMR from the bathroom window. Or my Walther P22 when I am out scratching in the dirt. I bought the Walther just for this and it fits in my back pocket just like it should. I have also made a couple long 75 yard shots on the long eared varmints eating my salid. :mad3:
Steve
Browning A-bolt 243 Silent Stalker with BOSS, with Bushnell Elite 4200 4x16x50. I load a 70 grain Sierra Blitz King with 38.1 grains of Dupont IMR 4064.
Rem. 788 in a 222cal or moss. 12ga with #4 buck. With these I can thread the needle or fill the air with lead.
WOW Rich I would have given you a better "welcome aboard" iffen I knew you were a 222 shooter. ;yes; :laf:
Thanks VV, we must be birds of a feather. My rem is awsome but I'm worried that I goine to lose the mag.while in the woods. :doh2: Those things are a killer to buy.

I know what ya mean! Even though mine is a ol' 722 Rem'. If I find one in the woods I'll see if you want it.
I'm with Coyotehunter_1 as I use a Re. 700 ADL with the gloss hardwood stock, or a H&R 12ga. with 3in 4 shot
3 1/2 inch Mossberg 835 12 gauge in the brush and an AR with a 1 1/2 x 5 scope and a 16 inch barrel in the open.
Ruger 22-250 with some Harris bipods topped with a Burris 3-9X40. It's got a bull barrel and a bench shooting laminated stock. The darn sucker is heavy to carry around, but it don't miss much. :eyebrow:

I got a new go to, my Rock River Arms LAR in 6.8SPC!!! I couldn't be more happy with a rifle. There's one problem though, I no longer have my bushmaster since trading it for the 6.8... Does this compromise my Screen name? :wo:
Nahhhhh, you'll always be Bushy to us. :laf:
