Got her three weeks ago from the shelter.  Estimated age is 18 - 24 months.  Had no intention of getting a hunting dog as I do very little hunting anymore.  Went to the shelter to find a bigger dog than the one we have, when I walked past her pen she went crazy, barking and jumping, the lady at the shelter said all she does is lay there never acted like this before.  So we took her home.  We have had her for three weeks, already she has learned to walk at heel, sits and comes on command.  She will not leave my side, should have named her velcro or shadow!  Marge thinks she will be my incentive to get out and hunt more.  Hope she is right!

When they come for mine they better bring theirs

"should have named her velcro or shadow"  I love that line.  I guess that Darcy knows quality when he walks by her cage.

Labs " I love Them " They are so Loyal and loving, I still miss mine badly, She picked you out " that's Cool "  When I went to buy my lab she was one of 9 Pups and all of them survived, The Breeder got all of them out to let me chose one , Well I did not have to chose , she chose me and what a joy she was, just wanted to be with me where ever I went, so easy to train and I felt like she could read my mind, For sure you have a life long friend.  :congrats:  :highclap: cc

Most of y'all know my many post about our Dobie Zeke.  Nothing can replace him or measure up to him but Darcy sure is trying hard.  She is a self learner, beside the basic commands she has taught herself to dig up a $2,000 irrigations system (twice), Plow the garden, already plowed and planted, open drawers in the kitchen and eat whatever is there, and lick the butter plate clean.  We thought about enrolling her in an obedience class but figured out there is nothing they could teach her, she knows it all, just like any teenager knows it all.

How can ya get mad with a face like that.

sounds like she may still have some of those puppy shenanigans in her...  hopefully you'll be able to wean her from any undesirable activities before to long...

has she had chance to meet any of the quail yet?... wondering how she'd handle birds, a pointer or a flusher... if she'll point and hold it, you may have to take the 28 for a walk this fall...
