Wild guess would be Turkish?  Is that a model 96 style that cocks on the forward stroke of the bolt?

I am always interested in gaining more gun knowledge!

As Nastygunz found, this paragraph from the site Pat linked seems to fit the marks on the rifle in question:

1938/K.Kale

As they became isolated during WWII they began assembling their own rifles from accumulated parts. While little is publicly known about this, it appears that all Turkish assembled rifles are marked K. Kale, for the arsenal where they were assembled. It also seems to be the case that, for the first time, receivers and parts were made in Turkey and assembled starting in 1940. This is a large ring small shank (LRSSM) rifle.

I just ran into another old gun I had never heard of, a Mossberg SS1. It is a single shot gun that has 12 gauge and rifle caliber barrel's interchangeable on it.

I almost had one but the guy that owned it must've thought it was sprinkled in gold dust for the price he wanted for it  :alscalls:
