Big Woods Bucks

Hey boys, I'm in college at the moment up here in the Adirondacks, and I was wonderin how I should go about tryin to shoot these "big woods bucks", I'm used to the fields and ridges of the Lake Ontario Lakeshore, not these miles and miles of woods (although it has made the squirrel huntin interestin' lol)

This is how I would do it

Find a travel path near a stream or a pond and set up close to that.I would hunt when rut is close to peak and
use a doe in heat bleat.If there are bucks in hearing range you should have tremendous luck

Depends on when you hunt.....right now food is thier thinking and scoping each other out......I would look for what they are eating and where they are in the am vs. pm, get a direction of travel then define thier bedding areas.
You just need to be between them

Yes but it is the scouting that makes the difference as well as the terrain...For example:
Bill hunts where I used to hunt he says go low...I get that totally yet in the high hills that I hunt now I hunt the high ridges mostly......Why? deer like edges and different areas have different kinds of edges to help conceal them. Food will make the difference as well as will the rut. but for the most part scouting will tell ya those edges and differences. I hope this makes sense and helps ya. I also like to hunt real close to bedding areas when I can hide a bit behind a well used point.
Just look for four or five trails coming together and look around and tell us what ya found.
